About these pages
Jungle and savanna animals in their homes: an elephant and calf bathing in a river, a giraffe reaching for treetop leaves, a rhino and calf on the savanna and a crocodile opening its jaws midriver. A tiger walks through the forest, a lion sleeps under a big tree, a zebra stands by a rocky stream and two monkeys hold hands on vines. A fluffy parrot has huge eyes and a hippo grins by a pond.
There are 14 easy pages with thick outlines for ages two to four, 39 for ages four to eight and 11 detailed pages for older kids and adults, such as a zentangle elephant and a lion head with a patterned mane. "What am I?" pages work well for a habitats lesson, as children guess the animal before they colour it. For more, see the lion pages, the monkey pages and the elephant pages.
Each design is its own page with a Letter and an A4 PDF, a description, and related pages, so you can print one sheet or a whole set.
Questions
What is the difference between a jungle and a savanna?
A jungle is thick tropical forest with heavy rain all year, home to animals such as tigers, parrots and many monkeys. A savanna is open grassland with scattered trees, where lions, zebras and giraffes live.
Why do zebras have stripes?
Scientists still debate it, but studies suggest the stripes help keep biting flies away, which seem to find striped coats hard to land on. Each zebra's stripe pattern is also unique.
How many horns does a rhino have?
It depends on the species. African white and black rhinos, and the Sumatran rhino, have two horns. The Indian and Javan rhinos have just one.
Can I print on A4 paper?
Yes. Every page has a Letter and an A4 version. Pick the one that matches your printer.
