About these pages
Cones, scoops and the animals who love them: an ice cream cone with sprinkles, a smiling double scoop waffle cone, a cone with three round scoops, an ice lolly on a stick and a scoop in a paper cup. Ice cream gets delivered too, by a truck driving through town, a van with a giant cone on top and a cart under a big beach umbrella. A dinosaur eats a cone, a puppy has a lick and a bear hugs a giant cone.
There are 8 easy pages for ages two to four, 10 for ages four to eight and 6 detailed pages for older kids and adults, including a sundae with cherries and wafers, a milkshake topped with whipped cream and an ice cream parlour counter. A colour match page with scoops makes a quick colour-naming game, and every scoop can be its own flavour. See the food pages, the cupcake pages and the candy pages.
Each design is its own page with a Letter and an A4 PDF, a description, and related pages, so you can print one sheet or a whole set.
Questions
What is the difference between ice cream and an ice lolly?
Ice cream is made from milk or cream, sugar and flavourings, churned as it freezes so air is mixed in. An ice lolly is usually fruit juice or flavoured water frozen solid on a stick, so it is harder and icier.
How do I make ice cream look creamy?
Use soft pastel shades with light pressure, then go over the bottom edge of each scoop with a slightly darker shade. Leave a small white patch near the top as a highlight so the scoop looks round.
How can I use ice cream pages in class?
Run a class survey of favourite flavours, then have each child colour their scoops to match their vote and build a simple bar chart. Counting the scoops on the three-scoop cone adds some easy maths for younger children.
Can I print on A4 paper?
Yes. Every page has a Letter and an A4 version. Pick the one that matches your printer.
