About these pages
Sweets from every season: a single striped candy cane, a swirly lollipop on a long stick, a round sweet in a twisted wrapper and a smiling candy corn with big eyes. Halloween pages show a trick-or-treat bag full of lollipops, a kawaii mummy and a ghost holding swirl lollipops, and a pirate boy with a candy bag. At Christmas a puppy chews a striped candy cane and a gingerbread house is covered in peppermints and gumdrops, while Diwali pages show a plate of round ladoo sweets and a gift box of sweets on a table.
There are 11 easy pages with thick outlines for ages two to four, 13 for ages four to eight and 4 detailed pages for older kids and adults. Candy canes and lollipop swirls are good practice for staying inside narrow stripes, so alternate two colours. For more, see the gingerbread pages, the Halloween pages and the Diwali pages.
Each design is its own page with a Letter and an A4 PDF, a description, and related pages, so you can print one sheet or a whole set.
Questions
What is candy corn?
A small Halloween sweet made mainly from sugar, corn syrup and honey, first produced in the 1880s. Its yellow, orange and white bands look like a kernel of corn, so colour the candy corn page in that order from the wide end.
What is ladoo?
A round Indian sweet usually made from flour such as gram flour, with ghee and sugar, and often cardamom or nuts. Ladoos are shared and given as gifts at Diwali, so colour them golden yellow or orange.
How do I colour a striped candy cane?
Leave the cane white or colour it very lightly, then fill every other stripe with red. For variety, try red and green stripes, or add a thin stripe beside each thick one as on many real canes.
Can I print on A4 paper?
Yes. Every page has a Letter and an A4 version. Pick the one that matches your printer.
