28 free printable pages, gathered from themes across the site. Every page downloads as a crisp PDF in Letter or A4. Updated October 13, 2026.
About these pages
Sunflowers growing tall, potted and smiling: a single tall sunflower with two leaves, a smiling sunflower in a pot, two sunflowers under a rainbow and butterflies over a sunflower garden. Children look after them too, with a girl watering tall sunflowers, a boy standing among the blooms and a boy holding a single flower. Animals join in, including a chubby hamster holding a sunflower, a dinosaur walking through sunflowers and a unicorn in a flower crown, and a farm truck drives through a sunflower field.
There are 4 easy pages with thick outlines for ages two to four, 19 for ages four to eight and 5 detailed pages, such as a sunflower ring mandala and a sunflower and wheat autumn wreath, for older kids and adults. In class, pair a page with planting real sunflower seeds in cups and measuring the seedlings each week. See also the flower pages, the fall pages and the pumpkin pages.
Each design is its own page with a Letter and an A4 PDF, a description, and related pages, so you can print one sheet or a whole set.
Questions
Do sunflowers really follow the sun?
Young plants do. Their buds turn from east to west during the day and swing back overnight. Once the flowers open, most stop moving and stay facing east, which warms them in the morning and attracts more bees.
How do I colour a sunflower?
Use lemon yellow for the petals, then add orange or gold near the centre so each petal looks curved. Fill the centre with brown and add darker dots for the seeds. Two greens make the leaves look real.
Why do sunflower seeds grow in spirals?
Each seed sits at an angle of about 137.5 degrees from the one before, which packs them tightly. Count the spirals in each direction and you usually get Fibonacci numbers, such as 34 and 55.
Can I print on A4 paper?
Yes. Every page has a Letter and an A4 version. Pick the one that matches your printer.
