About these pages
Pumpkins for Halloween, Thanksgiving and harvest time: a happy jack-o'-lantern, two kids carving a jack-o'-lantern, three jack-o'-lanterns on porch steps, a family picking pumpkins at the patch, a tractor hauling a pumpkin trailer and a smiling scarecrow in a pumpkin patch. There are kawaii pumpkins in a scarf and a witch hat, a kitten sitting inside a pumpkin, a slice of pumpkin pie and a pumpkin carriage with curly vine swirls.
10 of the 38 pages are easy, with a big round pumpkin and thick lines for ages two to four, 18 are for ages four to eight, and 10 detailed pages, including a pumpkin mandala and an all-over pattern of pumpkins, candy and bats, suit older kids and adults. For more, see the Halloween pages, the Thanksgiving pages and the fall pages.
Each design is its own page with a Letter and an A4 PDF, a description, and related pages, so you can print one sheet or a whole set.
Questions
Are these pumpkin pages scary?
No. The jack-o'-lanterns smile, the ghost over the pumpkin patch is friendly and many pages are harvest scenes with no Halloween theme at all, so they work from September to November.
Is a pumpkin a fruit or a vegetable?
Botanically it is a fruit, because it grows from a flower and holds seeds. In the kitchen it is usually treated as a vegetable, although it is also baked into sweet pumpkin pie.
Where do jack-o'-lanterns come from?
In Ireland and Scotland, people carved faces into turnips and other root vegetables at Halloween. When the custom reached North America, pumpkins were bigger and easier to carve, so they took over.
Can I print on A4 paper?
Yes. Every page has a Letter and an A4 version. Pick the one that matches your printer.
