About these pages

Presents of every shape: a gift box with a bow wider than the box, a tall round gift box, a stack of three presents and a tree-shaped gift tag. Animals hold gifts too, from a teddy bear hugging a present and a little mouse with a tiny one to a polar bear cub and a kawaii penguin in earmuffs. Busier scenes show Santa packing gifts into his sack, a grinning elf wrapping a gift, a toy steam train loaded with presents and a boy tying a ribbon bow.

There are 12 easy pages with thick outlines for ages two to four, 12 for ages four to eight and 1 detailed for older kids and adults, including an ornate sleigh piled high with gifts. Plain boxes invite children to design their own wrapping paper, and a finished present can be cut out and used as a gift tag. Which present pages suit toddlers?

Use the "Easy" filter above. The 12 easy pages, such as the stack of three presents, the smiling kawaii gift box and the gift box with a heart-shaped tag, have thick lines and big flat sides to fill.

How can children design their own wrapping paper?

Before colouring, ask them to draw a pattern on each box: stripes, dots, stars or zigzags. Then colour the pattern in two or three colours and give the ribbon a contrasting shade so the bow stands out.

Why do people give presents at Christmas?

The custom is often linked to the gifts the Magi brought to the baby Jesus and to St Nicholas, a fourth-century bishop known for giving in secret. Giving presents on Christmas Day became widespread in the 1800s.
