About these pages
Friendly witches and their cosy world: a little witch flying on a broomstick, a little witch girl with her kitten, a young witch reading with a kitten on her lap and a kawaii witch holding a tiny broom. A witch stirs a pot beside a sleeping cat, another flies over village rooftops, and there is a witch's cottage with a steaming cauldron and a cupboard of potions and candles.
Witch hats get pages of their own, trimmed with flowers and stars, with a star badge or a square buckle, or hanging on a broomstick, and a kawaii pumpkin and a sitting cat both wear one. 6 of the 20 pages are easy, 11 are for ages four to eight and 3 are detailed, for older kids and adults. For more, see the Halloween pages, the cat pages and the pumpkin pages.
Each design is its own page with a Letter and an A4 PDF, a description, and related pages, so you can print one sheet or a whole set.
Questions
Are these witch pages scary?
No. The witches here are friendly and often small, reading, stirring a pot or flying with a kitten. They suit young children who enjoy Halloween dress-up but do not like frightening pictures.
What colours work best for a witch?
Purple, green, black and orange are the classic Halloween choices, but hats and dresses can be any colour. Try a starry pattern on the hat and a bright orange glow under the cauldron.
Why are witches drawn with black cats?
In old European folklore, black cats were said to keep witches company, which is why the two appear together at Halloween. In Britain and Japan, a black cat is often thought to bring good luck.
Can I print on A4 paper?
Yes. Every page has a Letter and an A4 version. Pick the one that matches your printer.
