29 free printable pages, from our winter coloring pages collection. Every page downloads as a crisp PDF in Letter or A4. Updated October 13, 2026.
About these pages
Winter drawn in fine detail: a snowy owl on a frosty pine branch, a fox curled up in the snow with patterned fur, a cardinal on a snowy berry branch and a wolf howling at a full moon. Quieter scenes show a log cabin in a snowy pine forest, a village street with lamp posts in falling snow and an ornate sleigh in front of a farmhouse. There are knitted pieces too, a Fair Isle bobble hat with a snowflake scarf and a jumper with snowflakes and stars, plus a hot cocoa mug with cinnamon sticks.
All 29 pages are detailed, with small spaces that take an evening or two each. Coloured pencils in cool blues and greys build soft shadows in the snow, and fine liners help with the tight patterns on the zentangle polar bear. The snowflake crystals make calmer, repetitive work. For more, see the Christmas pages for adults, the winter pages and the snowflake pages.
Each design is its own page with a Letter and an A4 PDF, a description, and related pages, so you can print one sheet or a whole set.
Questions
What is a Fair Isle pattern?
A style of knitting named after Fair Isle, a small island in Shetland, Scotland. Bands of small repeating motifs are knitted with two colours in each row, so choose a few colours and repeat them band by band.
How should I colour a snowy owl?
Adult male snowy owls are almost pure white, while females and young birds have dark brown bars and spots. Leave most of the feathers white, add soft grey shading and colour the eyes bright yellow.
Why do cardinals appear in so many winter pictures?
Northern cardinals do not migrate, so they stay through the winter in eastern North America. The male's bright red feathers stand out against snow, which has made him a favourite on winter cards.
Can I print on A4 paper?
Yes. Every page has a Letter and an A4 version. Pick the one that matches your printer.
