About these pages
Sheep and lambs in the fields: woolly sheep and lambs by a fence, a sheep leaping over a picket fence, a lamb sleeping beside a haystack, a lamb drinking from a metal bucket and a sheep getting a pat from a farmer. One sheep wears a knitted bobble hat, and a donkey and sheep stand by the manger. Rams have pages too, with a curly-horned ram in a hilly field and a ram head with curled horns, and U Is for Urial shows a wild sheep.
There are 7 easy pages for ages two to four, such as a sheep face with curly wool, 11 for ages four to eight and 7 detailed pages for older kids and adults, including three sheep grazing among mountain flowers and a sheep with zentangle wool. Leave white wool mostly blank, with soft grey shading in the curls for depth. See the farm animal pages, the duck pages and the animal pages.
Each design is its own page with a Letter and an A4 PDF, a description, and related pages, so you can print one sheet or a whole set.
Questions
What is the difference between a sheep, a lamb and a ram?
A lamb is a young sheep, usually under a year old, a ram is an adult male and a ewe is an adult female. Many rams grow curled horns, though plenty of breeds have no horns at all.
Why are sheep sheared?
Most farm sheep have been bred to keep growing wool and do not shed it, so farmers shear them about once a year, usually in late spring or early summer. This keeps them cool and gives wool for yarn.
What is a urial?
A wild sheep that lives on grassy hills and mountain slopes in countries such as Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. It has a reddish-brown coat, and the males grow large curving horns and a dark ruff of hair on the chest.
Can I print on A4 paper?
Yes. Every page has a Letter and an A4 version. Pick the one that matches your printer.
