29 free printable pages, gathered from themes across the site. Every page downloads as a crisp PDF in Letter or A4. Updated October 13, 2026.
About these pages
Mushrooms in the woods and in storybook homes: tall spotted mushrooms among ferns, mushrooms sprouting from a fallen log and a forest floor scattered with acorns. Animals use them too, with a frog sheltering under a mushroom umbrella, a mouse asleep on a mushroom bed, a bearded gnome on a mushroom seat and a hedgehog carrying a mushroom. There are mushroom houses with round doors and chimneys, a toadstool village with doors and stairs and a mushroom harvest in a woven basket.
There are 6 easy pages with thick outlines for ages two to four, 11 for ages four to eight and 12 detailed pages for older kids and adults, including a mushroom mandala and a mushroom covered in zentangle swirls. A red cap is quick to colour if you leave the spots white. In a nature topic, remind children never to pick or eat wild mushrooms. See also the nature pages, the hedgehog pages and the woodland animal pages.
Each design is its own page with a Letter and an A4 PDF, a description, and related pages, so you can print one sheet or a whole set.
Questions
Is a mushroom a plant?
No. Mushrooms are fungi, a separate kingdom from plants. They have no green chlorophyll and cannot make food from sunlight, so they feed on rotting wood, leaves and soil. The mushroom itself is the part that releases spores.
What is the red mushroom with white spots?
That is the fly agaric, the toadstool of fairy tales. It grows under birch and pine trees in late summer and autumn and is poisonous, so children should look but never touch or eat it. The white spots are scraps of its early covering.
Which mushroom pages suit toddlers?
Use the "Easy" filter for the 6 easy pages, such as a mushroom with three spots and a fat stem, a smiling kawaii mushroom and a mushroom house with a round door. Each has thick outlines and big spots to fill.
Can I print on A4 paper?
Yes. Every page has a Letter and an A4 version. Pick the one that matches your printer.
