About these pages
Horses and ponies in fields, stables and on the beach: a horse trotting with a flowing tail, a horse jumping a wooden rail fence, a mare and foal grazing in a meadow, a horse galloping along the shoreline and wild horses racing through tall grass. Four horses stand and trot together on one page, and a girl brushes a horse in its stable.
Ponies have long flowing manes, and a kawaii pony wears a flower crown. Princess pages add a pony at a tower window and a horse among playroom toys, a rocking horse waits by the Christmas tree, and two alphabet pages pair a horse with the letter H. 4 of the 17 pages are easy, 9 are for ages four to eight and 4 are detailed. For more, see the princess pages and the unicorn pages.
Each design is its own page with a Letter and an A4 PDF, a description, and related pages, so you can print one sheet or a whole set.
Questions
What is the difference between a horse and a pony?
A pony is a horse that measures under 14.2 hands, about 147 centimetres, at the shoulder. Ponies often have thicker manes and tails, which is why the pony pages show such long, flowing hair.
How do I colour a horse's coat?
Pick a base colour such as chestnut, bay brown, grey or black, then use a darker shade on the legs and under the belly. Bay horses have a black mane, tail and lower legs.
What is a baby horse called?
A baby horse is called a foal, and its mother is a mare. Foals can stand and walk within an hour or two of being born, which helps them keep up with the herd.
Can I print on A4 paper?
Yes. Every page has a Letter and an A4 version. Pick the one that matches your printer.
